Statement of Principal: 
   
Welfare and Treatment of Horses
        In all cases, the welfare of horses, regardless of value, shall be paramount over all other considerations. 
        It is mandatory that horses be treated with the kindness, respect and compassion they deserve; at no time will they be subject to mistreatment.
        Requiring that owners, trainers, and exhibitors, or any of their agents, use responsible care in the handling, treatment and transportation of their horses as well as horses owned and placed in their care for any purpose.  
    Safety and Health of Horses
        Supporting the continuous well-being of horses by encouraging routine inspection and consultation with health care professionals and competition officials to achieve the highest possible standards of nutrition, health, comfort, sanitation and safety as a matter of standard operating procedure.
        Advocating and supporting the continuation of scientific studies on equine health and stress related issues.
    Follow USAE, WSH, and Zone Rules
        Requiring owners, trainers and exhibitors to know and follow USAE, Washington State Horsemen, and/or Evergreen Zone rules and to work within industry regulations in all equestrian competitions. 
        Continually reviewing, revising and developing competition rules and regulations that protect the welfare of horses.        

Membership:
   
Membership in Evergreen Zone shall be established by membership in Washington State Horsemen and members shall be affiliated with only one Zone. Any WSH member belonging through a club or as a non-club member and listed by WSH as a member of Evergreen Zone shall be eligible for Evergreen Zone High Score Awards providing the Zone requirements have been met.

Get a Rule Book:
   
Each family will receive one complete Evergreen Zone 2006 Rule Book when they sign up as Zone members. Additional Rule books are only $5.00, to help cover the cost of printing. - Books are available by contacting Debbie Paul.

Zone Coverage:
   
The state is divided into geographical areas called Zones, (See WSH By-Laws, Article VII, Section 2).The geographical boundaries of this Zone are as follows:
        All of Snohomish County, King County north of I-90 including Mercer Island and excluding the cities of Issaquah, North Bend and Snoqualmie.
