Rules for Year End Awards
1. Exhibitors and/or horse owners or authorized agents agree to abide by Evergreen Zone’s rules as well as WSH and/or AHSA where applicable. A current EVZ rule book will be sent when completed sign-up forms and applicable fees have been received.
2. Points will be counted as of the date the sign-up chairman receives the completed sign-up forms and appropriate fees. If application is made at a show, the show steward must note the date and time on the application and return it to the exhibitor. This form must be received by the sign-up chairman no later than 7 days after the show. Failure to do so within the 7 day grace period will result in forfeiture of earned points from that show. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EXHIBITOR TO MAIL/RETURN THE COMPLETED FORM TO THE SIGN UP CHAIRMAN.
3.
In order to qualify for a year-end high score award, horse/rider must compete at
least 3 times and place at least once in each class registered.
Exhibitors and/or horse owners or authorized agents agree to attend at
least two (2) Evergreen Zone meetings – general, board, or committee, prior to
September 30th of the show year.
Failure to do so will forfeit any placings in the year end awards
program.
Parents or guardians may attend for juniors.
General meetings are held the first Thursday of the month, except for
August & January.
Please check EVZ’s newsletter, Impulsion,
for further information or contact a zone officer.
4. Exhibitors or horse/pony owners must also provide at least one class or high point sponsorship for the Zone Benefits Show, or contribute a fee equivalent to a sponsorship. A class sponsorship is $10.00. A high point sponsorship is $25.00. This should be included with your year-end sign up fees. It is a requirement for year-end award qualification.
5.
All classes in which a high point award will be presented must have at least 3
qualified exhibitors.
Exceptions:
Leadline; Walk-trot; Pony Pleasure; and all 11 & under classes shall
be presented.
Awards in all other classes will be given to eighth place in all
qualifying classes and ties will receive duplicate awards.
6. Exhibitor and/or horse/pony owner MUST be a current WSH member and valid WSH membership numbers must be given at the time of sign-up. Copies of WSH and amateur stamp (if required) and breed registration papers (if applicable) must accompany sign-up forms. Points will not count until these are received.
7. Recommended age groups are as follows: 11 & under; 12 – 13; 14 – 17; 18 – 30; and 31 & over. Age for the current show year will be determined as of December 1st of the prior year. Depending upon fill, age groups may be combined for awards.
8. Awards for senior equitation classes will only be given to certified amateurs. Seniors must have a current WSH or AHSA amateur card. A senior amateur is a member 18 years of age or older who has not accepted compensation in any form for showing, training, or instruction of horses or riders in the last 3 years. Any compensation that was accepted prior to becoming a senior member does not affect amateur status. See current AHSA rule book for complete definition. 2006 WSH amateur card stamps can be obtained from the WSH horse show division chairperson for the cost of $12.00.
9. Horse/ponies may not cross enter different age groups in performance classes at the same show. Horse/ponies may sign up for more than one age group performance classes by paying the fee per class.
10. A newsletter subscription is required. This is a $2.00 per year fee. The fee should be included with your class sign up fees. The newsletter is emailed to members & junior members’ parents on a monthly basis. It included upcoming horse show dates as well as other horse related information.
PLEASE PRINT CLEARLY ALL INFORMATION ON THE SIGN-UP FORM. EVERGREEN ZONE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ERRORS MADE DUE TO ILLEGIBLE HANDWRITING. ALL INCOMPLETE FORMS WILL BE RETURNED AND POINTS WILL NOT COUNT UNTIL THE FORM IS COMPLETED. FORMS ARE CONSIDERED INCOMPLETE IF NOT SIGNED. PARENT SIGNATURES MUST APPEAR ON ALL JUNIOR EXHIBITOR SIGN-UP FORMS.
Mail completed forms with fees and copies of papers to Horse Show Co-Chairperson Debbie Paul.
